our identity
Mount Olivet began a journey in 2013 to open our hearts and minds, and connect more deeply with God’s word, to each other, and to our broader community, we were able to discern our vision and hear the Holy Spirit’s call.
We knew then, as we know today, that we cannot stay the same. We must continue to learn, grow, and evolve—to step out in faith, build community, and lean into God’s future.
Our journey and outward focus introduces us to new people and pushed us to new places. As we began to better grasp our community’s needs and challenges, relationships with other organizations formed. This gave us a greater understanding of our role in the community—and our responsibility to the community.
WE ARE
a community who believes in the life-giving God, revealed through Jesus, who shows up in daily life - engaging us in God’s work in the world.
a community who experiences a faith journey together, with openness and compassion, trusting in the promises of Christ.
a community who practices being church in the world - listening to God and neighbor, pointing to God's active presence, and doing what God calls us to do.
our mission
finding our place in God's unfolding story by dwelling in God, connecting in community, and engaging in our callings.
our vision
a community partnering with God in the world.
