From November 12th – 15th, 2023 more than 93 quilts will be on display in the Worship Center. These quilts have been lovingly made by the Mount Olivet Quilters.
Over the past 26 years, the MO Quilters have made close to 2,100 quilts. More than 860 of these quilts have been delivered to the Lutheran World Relief Warehouse in St. Paul to be distributed to needy people around the world.
Many other quilts have been distributed locally to Hammer Residents, Home Free, Lutheran Social Services, MN Council of Churches (for Refugees), Prism and others.
The Quilters are group of fabric loving women that enjoy making quilts and giving to others. We are a self-sustaining group that currently has ~ 14 active members (from 2 to 7 quilters each meeting) and tie ~ 8 to 20 quilts monthly. We cut and sew tops at home and meet to tie quilts weekly on Thursday mornings from 9 am until noon.
Donations of cotton fabric for tops, flat sheets (any size), and embroidery floss are greatly appreciated and put to good use. For more information about LWR Quilts and the MO Quilters contact Nancy Vande Vegte at nancy.vandevegte@gmail.com or 763-559-9203.
